King of the Bouquetin Herd
(Firstly, a huge thanks for your generous response to yesterday’s Swan Lake which is currently top of the “Pops”. Honoured.)
However His Majesty seemed to have lost the herd, he was with only one young male. We thought they were kind as they decided to come to visit us as we had walked up about 500m to see them more clearly. We couldn’t believe our luck when these two majestic males started walking calmly towards us and were eventually about 10 metres above us. I am never afraid of them, they clearly fight hard amongst themselves (look at his horns “front on” in extra too) but I have never heard of any incidents involving people. The chamois we saw, again quite close, spotted us and ran quickly out of sight, a very different animal. Some extras, it was such a brilliant morning, great to meet up accidentally and share it with Maria too.
