Winter is Early
This should be an autumn scene of soft yellows and browns but the 2 recent snowfalls, made the walk up to the Col de Fenestral (extra) at 2453m, more difficult in the soft snow. Only a few of the larch trees (extra) had yellow needles which they normally have in the autumn. We simply haven’t had autumn yet. Helen and I didn’t see any animals, just fox tracks which went all the way up to the col which is left of the skyline. The last time we were here together, and with David, was in Spring of 2014 when we were training for a ski touring trip to Norway. Then we went up to the peak, the Dents du Morcles, on the right of the photo. We were younger and fitter then!
Thanks so much for your generosity for yesterday’s snow scene too.
