Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

By Carol

Split Personality

I've decided that I must have a split personality because I have chosen to show two views from the lovely Butchart Gardens in Victoria, British Columbia. If I were a sane normal individual, I'd just display one of these: The Checkered Lily (Fritillaria) or the view from the former Butchart home now restaurant that reveals the little harbor. Both were favorites, along with about 50 others.

This morning my girlfriend, Trudy, and I spent several hours in this world famous garden. I exited the gardens with over 100 photos. There were many fancy flowers and flowing fountains. My cheapie camera took more keepers than discards. We wandered through the Japanese Garden, the Sunken Garden, and several other sections. We breathed in the fragrance and scent of spring and decided we had made a good decision to take the tour.

The morning was overcast and chilly and the Butchart employees brought out carts of umbrellas, but it never rained. It is now about an hour till the evening dinner--nearing 5:00 p.m. and the sky outside this Holland America ship is clear and sunny with lots of activity in the port: ferries, sea planes, kayakers, and Canadian military ships.

We're having such a fun weekend together. Hope you are too.
So long for now,
Rosie, aka Carol

P.S.S. We have a window in our room--what a surprise! We discovered we were upgraded when we arrive yesterday!

P.P.S. Mr. Fun, I miss YOU! Next time, it's YOU and me!! Woohoo.
