Diary of an Edinburgher

Apples galore

No gym for JR this morning again. I think she’s getting a wee bit used to a relaxing morning with breakfast in bed…

Archie and I set off down to Timson’s to get some new keys. Archie loves the walk down there, as there is so much rubbish around, and bits of food. He’s on full alert.Turns out, the key is some sort of special one that has to be sent away for…

We walked home via the canal - less rubbish there. And when we came across the Links, it was lunchtime, so loads of schoolkids out sitting in groups eating their lunches, so I kept Archie on his lead, as he’d’ve been mooching round them all - you’d think he wasn’t fed.

I then relaxed in the afternoon, after my 7,123 steps. JR had busied herself chopping up the pile of apples from our back garden to make apple chutney. I did suggest apple pie, or possibly apple crumble, but no - apple chutney it is. In fact, there’s rather a large pot of it…

This is us at the Lochrin Basin, with rather a lot of green algae. Sadly, the rather good (dog friendly) cafe/bar that was there for years, is no more.
