Back in business
Hooray! We have internet and phone again. France Telecom cancelled no fewer than five times, then told us we would be connected on April 5th. Yesterday afternoon (25 March), whilst we were pruning vines, my mobile rang. C'est Monsieur France Telecom. I am at your house. Are you in? I'd like to pull the cable from a nearby telegraph pole, run it through 60m of pipework along your drive, and have you online in the next hour or so. So, are you in? I asked him if he'd wait then drove home 15km to find him dragging wires along the drive. Within just under an hour we were connected. Whoopee. So finally the house feels finished.
All the artisans pulled it out of the bag to get the house ready for our lovely volunteers to come to stay for this week. Here they are working on old grenache in the amphitheatre. We have 5000 vines to prune, but we've made a stonking start during the past two gloriously sunny days. The vineyard looks absolutely beautiful at the moment, awash with wild flowers as we haven't had time to plough or strim. It just makes me think that nature does this gardening thing the best.
Looking forward to blipping and commenting again. My apologies for the past few weeks of silence. I do still love you.
