Prickly Eye

I took a walk up to the fuel allotments today. It was a good walk, but rather lacking in photogenic subjects.  However, I did find a rather nice clump of Stagshorn fungus (extra) which proved a great subject for trying out the focus stacking feature on the camera (much easier than changing focus manually). 

For the main subject, and with a nod to  Ingeborg's Abstract Thursday challenge, I chose this abstract view of a sweet chestnut nestling in its spiky case looking just like an eye!
