The final frontier
A slightly damp, invigorating walk with the Glasgow Ramblers following, loosely, the Antonine Wall taking in Croy Hill. The blip is a metal sculpture of a Roman soldier’s head by Svetlana Kondakova. The chap is looking out from the line of the Antonine Wall towards the Campsie Fells.
Our age profile was considerably reduced by the presence of two students both doing a Masters in Gender Politics. The conversation was one of the best I’ve ever had on a walk. Neither identified as Scottish so we ventured into politics of civic nationalism. I hope they walk with us again because I would have liked to hear their observations on The Tiger who came to Tea.
