What a contrast - a beautiful sunny day dawned, so we took a trip out to Musselburgh to walk around the sea wall from the Esk and visit the scrapes at Levenhall. The concrete arrow that is pointing out D in the blip is a relic of WWII - there's a bit about it here. Saw quite a few birds - including twa corbies on a sign (extra), some linnets having a little natter together on the sea wall, and lots of lapwings by the scrapes (one of them another extra).

Then in the evening we went to Stockbridge to use D's birthday gift card in P. Express, the Leith branch being no more. Enjoyed the meal, although it was rather noisy - hadn't bargained for all the New Town residents bringing their children down to slum it in Stockbridge.
