Our Day in Photos, Take 2
Sunny and mild early changing to overcast and warm before the rain began much later. Pouring with a thunderstorm at the moment. Since the original forecast said rain most of the day, we got up early and headed out to the creek area looking for a blip. We found way too many to choose from, so you get another collage. Hubby wanted to walk the .6 miles to the creek but I wasn’t sure our knees and hips could do it. Once we got started on the level trails, we meandered over two miles along the shoreline, through the forest or on a path by the cornfields. That was much easier than walking on a paved road with no shade. Wildlife and wildflowers were scarce. We saw an unidentifiable warbler, empty eagle’s nest, a blue heron in a distance, some bees, two squirrels and the gray hairstreak pictured. You can see there were a few colorful plant specimens. We really liked the shape of the tree shown with its curved branches. The cattails were in a marshy area but we hope to get to the larger marsh on Thursday after the rain stops. We’ve been warned about the mosquitoes there so we put it off. Probably should have gone before the rain. The shoreline was very scenic and the sky/reflections added to the beauty. I worked on my cross stitch and hubby read more of “David Copperfield” after lunch. We battled a swarm of stink bugs that came out of nowhere, hundreds of them on the camper and all around us. Then we prepped to sit in our screen house tomorrow while it rains using tarps on two adjoining walls and setting up our big fan to provide a bit of air flow. We’ll enjoy leftover shepherd’s pie for dinner and get out the Kindles till bedtime. I hope your day was as pleasant as ours. I won’t know the outcome of the “issue” until December. Please keep us in prayer if you can. Thanks for stopping by. “The question is not what you look at, but what you see.” - Henry David Thoreau
