Diary of an Edinburgher

Cheese please!

Two sessions on the bike, but I skipped the yoga-babble. A wet day, so I texted Robert and told him to stay at home, warm and dry. Archie hates going out in the rain. And Robert’s not that keen either.

Brian popped round the test the weight of the sofas. They’re heavy. He has not yet organised helpers - the student neighbours he wants are away. But the van is booked, so it’s definite.

A cold wet afternoon ensued, so nobody felt like going out, least of all Archie. He did look out the back door a couple of times, but refused to go out. Eventually I dragged him out in the afternoon - he must have been bursting.

A couple of reluctant piddles, lots of sitting down and refusing to move (Archie) - we got to the end of the street and that was enough. For both of us. Later, it stopped raining slightly, so JR took him out.

We watched ‘North Water’ the story set on a whaling ship in Greenland. I had recorded it, but haven’t felt the urge to watch it. I know it’s very graphic and such a horrible, awful, cruel subject. However, there’s quite a story, and if you don’t look at extended scenes in Episode 2, when they kill seals and catch a whale, then it’s quite watchable. I did quickly Google to confirm that ‘No animals were harmed in the making of the film’. It’s all CGI.

Archie could not take his eyes off me having a wee bit of cheese, so he obliged with his trick of flicking it up and catching it. Well, 1 out of 3 tries. Why do dogs LOVE cheese?

PS Spoke too soon with ‘North Water’. Episode 4 has the most awful dragged out scene, involving a polar bear, reminiscent of the Revenant. And three murders.
