Off to my torture session at BodyStreet again. They did another body scan, and yes - I’m still dehydrated. It must be my thyroid pills, or my thyroid that’s causing it. But all the water drinking is helping everything else, apparently, because I’ve lost 1kg of fat (not that you’d notice) gained muscle (definitely not noticeable). I’ve also taken three years off my ‘metabolic’ age, and that’s completely bonkers, but I’ll take it all as a positive.
After my session, I walked round to see if Salt cafe had re-opened yet (under new management). No. So I walked on to Bruntsfield, and it started to rain. Oh, look - Project Coffee... a nice flat white, but I didn’t have a scone.
As I walked on home in sunshine after the shower, the plumber phoned. He was earlier than planned, but JR was at home. Our Victorian plumbing has always been a bit of a problem, but it has suddenly become a bigger problem. In fact, he couldn’t fix it but will return with another chap and give it a jet hose tomorrow.
There was a doggie treat still under the cupboard. We can cheat and pretend to him that we get it out by ‘finding’ another one. But he’s not fooled. He was standing there, giving the occasional ‘WOOF’, wagging his tail and peering under the cupboard, and he cannot be distracted, so JR had to use the metre stick to get it out.
We had apple pie and custard for lunch. I could live on apple pie and custard. That’s it finished, but I’d best not make another one.
