Muck In A Truck
The field directly to the south of our property has recently had new fencing and is now being grazed by the horse sanctuary ponies. Every morning the staff come round in a truck and collect all the droppings. Apart from improving the appearance of the pasture, this prevents the animals from ingesting worms and prevents flies being attracted to the area. The two ponies in my image seemed to be very interested in the manure in the Kubota.
I've added an image to extras of a pony wearing a fly coat and hood. Some individuals are worried by flies more than others.
When MrQ first started growing cucumbers in the fifties the beds were constructed using horse manure.
