A Damp Day in Kirkwall

Whilst we were still in bed when a call came through from Algernon and Marcia indicating their ETA at the Pierhead for their forthcoming cultural exchange of gifts from the Forres WI.

CMC departed to Caroline’s for an accordion session and I checked with the plumber about the sign-off of the Hoy Kirk Water Project.

Just as Orkney was receiving its ‘first meaningful rain since March 28th’ we decided to have a thrill seeking afternoon in Kirkwall.  Buying a ceiling lamp, logs, messages, getting my glasses repaired and a dental appt for CMC.

Mundanity writ gigantic.

An enlightening moment arrived when CMC declared the Clapshot season open; earlier than expected.  I didn’t complain.
