Garden Colour

I had some pictures e-mailed to me today from a friend in Kirkcudbright where the snow is at a quite astonishing level. This climate gets worse and worse. Here we have no snow only a bitterly cold wind which seems to be reluctant to move and dull grey skies. These two shrubs in the front garden provide what little colour there is and for that I suppose we should be grateful, when people in Arran and elsewhere are buried in snow drifts and without power. Not sure what the plants are but the purple one is I think a member of the Hebe family.
Thanks to all who commented on Frasers picture yesterday ....much appreciated
