St Bernard's Well on the Last Day of Summer
Mr hazelh, my sister-in-law Sarah, and I believe that today has probably been the last day of summer. We certainly made the most of the beautiful weather.
First, we cycled down to Portobello for brunch on the prom at Miro's. Then we cycled home along the Brunstane path. We had hoped to take the Innocents' railway path to Holyrood Park, but it was closed due to rock falls. Our second attempt to enter the park via Duddingston also failed. In the end we carried the bikes from Duddingston Loch all the way up the steps to Dunsapie Loch to enter the park.
After we dropped the bikes off at the house, we headed back out again to pay a visit to Stockbridge market, and then Dean Gardens, which were open to the public today as part of Doors Open Day. It was here that I took the photo for my blip. We also enjoyed tea and cake on the lawn sunbathing and listening to live music. It was wonderful.
Tonight I made veggie lasagne and gooey chocolate pudding for dinner. Afterwards we are playing Catan. Sarah won last night in the first game that she has ever played. She won't tonight ;-)
Exercise today: 12 miles of cycling; walking (14,555 steps).
