Soccer Saturday
It was cup match number one of the weekend. Cully won 5-1 and the opposition weren’t too happy with the ref and a few of the kids on that team ended up with yellow cards. The kids hardly ever get cards but they were rather abusive in their language when remonstrating so had no choice.
As they are getting older I guess there is a chance we will see more cards.
What is not going to be fun is that we have to play the same team on Sunday in a different cup - so we will start off the match with them already in a mood with use over the match today. Even worse is that we couldn’t get a ref from the ref bank so Ian will step in and ref - which is never good when there is any type of ‘grudge’ match as they will just moan about the ref being biased! Ah well, let’s hope it goes better than expected and that Ian doesn’t have to dish out any cards.
In better news, the problem with our discovery service at work was resolved so I could spend an hour or so rolling back all the workaround messages I’d had to put up on Friday night. We had feared it was all down for the weekend and that our colleagues on Library chat would be spending the whole weekend helping confused students. Thankfully, an overnight fix had worked so they will have a much quieter weekend now.
