Boing!
Did some running around for Ali this morning including, in the process, an effective commando raid on Next where I picked up a set of baby grows which we had admired, for half price. Baby Josie has so many clothes, but none of them are tiny enough for a five and a half pound baby!
This afternoon was the party of the week, Isobel's 5th birthday bash. She had a bouncy castle with accompanying disco music and modelling balloons. She had a lot of fun.
I've blurred the rest of the scene as there were other children in it, but I rather liked the shot of the party girl mid bounce!
The big hit though was when her new baby cousin dropped in for the last ten minutes. She and Eilidh were most taken by how small she was.
I drove them to the party, and was amazed how well the new parents are doing. It took me a couple of weeks, I think, to cross the threshold with my first child. Mind you it was the dead of winter and very cold and wet. On the other hand I think that Ali and Stuart have been keeping themselves so safe and away from people for the last month or so in advance of going to hospital for the birth that they may be feeling a bit stir crazy.
Kathryn too was happy to see both her sister and her new niece for the first time. They timed the visit well and didn't take the focus away from Isobel by arriving after most of the party was all over.
We've had a quiet evening with fish and chips from the chippy as a treat. Yummy.
Keep safe everyone
