Do giraffe's make good pets?

The day got off to a great start with Ally and Christine messaging us to say the were making us breakfast!

Sure enough, just after 10am Ally and Andrew appeared carrying plates with toasted bagels, bacon, scrambled eggs, grilled tomatoes and mushrooms.  Oh and a breakfast cocktail (alcohol free :-) made with fresh orange, soda water, bananas, oranges and grapes.  All of it delicious!  I could get used to this! 

Not long after breakfast they headed off to the zoo.   David headed off to the driving range, Lola settled at my feet and I spent a lovely couple of hours painting.  

David returned and we got ourselves organised and headed to Bispham with Lola.  We parked the car and walked along the prom for a few miles and enjoyed the Blackpool Illuminations.  What a lot of work goes into this.   Lola was excellent walking on her lead despite the busy traffic and all the new sights and smells, not to mention all the flashing lights.  She was a not unsure when a tram went past and wasn't keen on the noise the wheels made on the tracks, but she got used to it  and by the time we were walking back to the car she was fine.  It was a lovely clear night.  Perfect conditions for seeing the lights.  I also got a lovely photograph of the sea at Bispham at the tail end of blue hour.  

We spent so long wandering along the Prom, by the time we got back to Bispham the chippy was closed, so that put paid to our fish supper sitting by the sea!  Back to the cottage for tea and toast instead!  

The guys returned about 10pm.  Can't remember what they did after the zoo but the zoo was a great success.  They had an absolutely brilliant time.

They got to feed the giraffes, which Alan loved, and now apparently wants one as a pet!  Andrew wants a monkey!  lol!  They enjoyed the zoo so much they were last to leave.  In fact a message came over the tannoy asking them to make their way to the exit as the zoo was now closed!  hahahahaha! Only Alan's car in the car park when they got out!  :-))

PS I am still laughing at Andrew telling Ally she looks like Honey G!  See pic above!  lol
