Well, Blow Me Down....

It was a wild and crazy night of heavy rain and high winds...with lots of things going bump in the night...and this morning I discovered one of them...The wind had blown the little sailboat right off its cradle! On the way down to the dock to bail out the boat, I also found that some of the lights along the walkway were broken or missing parts...We had some branches down, but there was no major damage. The main concern was the sailboat, but it appears to have survived intact...so all is well.

The weather calmed down today in that we had rain, but no strong winds and that made quite a difference. My brother and I went in to town as planned, did our errands and visited with friends for a while before returning down the bay..in the pouring rain of course. Does it ever end? 

My daughter and son-in-law arrived this evening from their vacation in Quebec, and will be staying over the weekend before heading home. It will be great to have some company and also to have someone here in case of boats blowing over or trees crashing down..things that would never have even crossed my mind in the past..but with this weird weather now, one does not know what to expect!
