International Car Free Day

This 1927 model is lovingly nurtured by its owner Steve. When cars like this ruled the road no one thought about the need for a car free day. How times have changed.

We marked the day by walking to the shops and after lunch walking 6 miles.

We saw three heritage railway trains pass through the village. They reminded us of how effective railways are at carrying large numbers without jamming up the Cotswold lanes!

The autumn equinox approaches as I write this. I only learnt recently that the date is not always 21st September! Equilux falls this Saturday.

On our ‘car free’ walk we gathered some more blackberries. However now that Michaelmas Day is approaching the blackberries have definitely begun to deteriorate.
