I Promised The Girls Two Things.....

..... for today.

I'd make pancakes for breakfast, and we'd go to the Botanical Gardens.

And we did both!

It was quite busy when we got to the gardens, as there was an Aboriginal festival going on.

We watched the Aboriginal dancers and an explanation on how to play a Didgeridoo.

All the activities were free including the food.  The girls just had a packet of chips (crisps) each.

They played in the play park, but it was rather full.

There's a balance beam that moves as you walk along it.  So it's quite hard to keep your balance.

A young girl of about 14 was trying to walk on it and kept falling off after 3 steps.  Both Isabella and Mia got up and walked across it without any problem.

The girl said,' How do they do that?'  I said, 'They are a lot lighter than you, so it's easier.'

We had ice-cream.  Made friends with a lot of dogs.

Watched the water dragons sunning themselves.  And a man clearing all the weeds from the water, in a big machine.  Saw a pair of beautiful black swans with three cygnets.  And spotted dozens of tadpoles.

But the thing they liked best of all - a padlock locked on to a wire fence.  They spent ages zooming it up and down to each other!!

The weather was lovely, but with quite a cold breeze.

We had a lovely time.

Their only complaint, was that we had to leave too soon.

I've promised them, we'll go back again next week.
