Tarbert

We headed off northwestwards from our lovely wild camp to Lochranza, just in time to catch the ferry over to Claonaig on the Kintyre peninsula. We had to stay in the car for the 35 minute crossing which felt weird. Then it was a short drive over to West Loch Tarbert and up to Tarbert. We had a wander round the harbour area and bought a few bits of food like salad, bread and fruit bought in the Co-op before getting the next ferry to Portavadie. Another 30 minutes in the car though Mr C had to go inside a tiny room to buy the ticket. Some cyclists were waiting in there without masks which seemed unusual for up here.

We drove across to Kames and found a nice wild camp spot right on the Kyles of Bute. It is overcast but not too cold. We’ll have a short walk along the shore.

We are going to have to make our way home on Friday as we’ve been offered flu jabs on Saturday. I don’t know if we get a Covid booster at the same time or not.

Covid news - #3 daughter had another GP consultation today and is being seen in person on Thursday. Her heart rate is still too high when she does anything. Friend Jenny is concerned as a carer and resident in her husband’s care home have tested positive. It is so hard, after all this time of people being a careful.
