Northern Kin Day 2 - a collection of silly things
You see the strangest things at a festival. Spotted the standard lamp outside a tent walking back from the toilets in the middle of the night, the platform outside a converted horse box looks like a good place to watch the world go by, the dog in the trolley seems quite odd but it was really meant for a toddler and the man wearing a tail just topped off the day! There were also stilt walkers and some very strange outfits but each to their own so no photos.
Our friends arrived in their van at lunchtime from a week boating in Norfolk and managed to get sited fairly close to us. It was great to see them again and catch up over a cup of tea before heading into the arena. Tea was after a fruitless walk to the water point as the water had run out. Finally got some in the arena!
The sun shone most of the day but it got a little chilly as it went down so the shorts were replaced with jeans and a thicker hoodie. Bands seen today included Skippinish, Martin Barre (of Jethro Tull fame), Ferocious Dog (so good that I’ve bought tickets to see them in Edinburgh in November), Red Hot Chilli Pipers who really got the crowd going and topped off by Wilko Johnson. I’ve seen him before and he’s not my cup of tea so I headed back to the van. Mr PHL followed about 10 minutes after WJ had started and said he wasn’t the best so decided to give him a miss.
Lots of distancing going in and people being respectful of each other’s space.
Uploaded Monday morning for Saturday.
