Driving Home
I spent a long afternoon at my mother's house. Tomorrow is "Sperrmülltag" (the day when bulky waste will be collected) in her village, so I had the job of taking wheelbarrow after wheelbarrow of stuff out. Moth--eaten rugs, half-rotted baskets and remains of garden furniture, broken terracotta flowerpots, and so on.
Whenever my mother saw me going past, she asked "what are you doing?", and declared the things too good to be thrown away. I would not be surprised if it's all back in the garden before the collectors come.
This blip is taken on my way home, overlooking the Rhine valley from the road near Frauenstein. There was no car behind me, so I could stop for a quick snapshot.
