Yes, it’s that time of the year again, the MVMW weekend away, the music trip. There were 21 of us, setting off at 6.30 am, on the train, to Leukerbad. We had a small Apero on the train, and croissants. The journey was long, but by 10.30, we were on the way through the village of Leukerbad, then on the cablecar up the Gemmipass. We had a drink at the restaurant, then set off, on our hike along the lake Daubensee. It was a beautiful easy walk, a wide path so great for a group, through to the Restaurant Schwarenbach. We had lunch, soup and Alplermaccheroni, delicious, then it was another hours walk to the Sonnbuel cable car. We enjoyed another drink at the restaurant, with fabulous views into Gasternthal, then headed down to our hotel in Kandersteg. We went for another walk through the village, had a couple more drinks, then had dinner at our hotel, a delicious rösti, then sat outside till late, a wonderful warm evening.
