I Had Time For A Little Play…

… before starting ‘work’  today.

Last year we bought a little fir tree in a pot for TSTMNBM… (you know the holiday at the end of December) and it sat outside the front door adorned with some little flashing LEDs for several weeks. We soon discovered that it did not have  much in the way of roots - but we kept watering it and it seemed to survive. Earlier this year we transferred it to a bigger pot with some fresh compost and we kept watering it….and lo and behold it seems to be growing - some of the branches have had new (different coloured) growth and last week I noticed that it appears to have developed a few flowers. So today I had a go at photographing it. Two different shots - the main image is a 20 shot focus stack and I have used up one of my extras with another shot - trying the black background technique (small aperture to exclude ambient light and a speed light just to light the subject and not the background).

I had another trip to the tip this morning and then went to Mrs madwill’s studio to begin dismantling shelving and transporting it home for installation in the recently cleared garage….. we have three weeks left to empty the unit before handing the keys back…
