Not St.Medana’s Well (1)

Taking flight ...
I hummed and harred and dithered about more camping and going on a little holy well odyssey. The Tour of Britain was going to be passing through the village but I knew if I waited for that I’d put myself off.
My post camper phase is taking a bit of effort and I drove along mostly thinking I’d just turn back. When I arrived in murky fog I thought I’d just try and find the well and go back home.
I walked down to Kirkmaiden’s Chapel (extra) and began to feel hopeful that I was sure to find this well. I thought that I had a good idea of its position from the maps but I scoured the beach and the area all around the chapel to no avail. I decided to have a brew instead and pondered whether or not I could be bothered to roll up to the campsite and pitch up.
I did in the end and cracked open a beer. Lovely little community owned site at Port William. Kelly was very welcoming and I provisionally booked tomorrow night as well as I was determined to crack the Mull of Galloway and St.Medana’s story over on that side of Luce Bay.
