What A Time To Found An Airline

I snapped the red plane at the top heading into Stansted because I hadn't noticed that red livery before. I've discovered that it's an Airbus A321 neo belonging to Icelandic company Play. The low cost airline was founded in 2019, not long before the pandemic struck. Many airline fleets were grounded and flight crew were furloughed or lost their jobs. Play survived and commenced operations out of Keflavik, the airport for Reykjavik, on 24th June this year.

The aircraft below is what we Brits call a Harvard - a North American T-6 Texan. It's known as "Dazzling Debs". The design of this trainer plane dates from 1935. During WWII they were used for refreshing pilots for combat and training Hurricane and Spitfire pilots. Our former next-door-neighbour and keen model aeroplane pilot David Gilmour used to own and fly one of these which he kept at North Weald.
