Batman And Bluebottle At The Ivy

The ivy is just coming into flower. Insects absolutely love it. I saw an ivy bee but didn't capture it. I did photograph an enormous hornet mimic hoverfly but wasn't happy with the angle. The hoverfly on the left hasn't got an official common name but is known as the Batman hoverfly because of the dark shape on its thorax. A bluebottle fly is on the right.
