Ballindalloch bridge
Day 4. Nowhere to Carron. 14.5 miles
Hot.
Dropped off where picked up yesterday and short walk to route.
Cows and cobwebs in the rough pastureland
2 short steep climbs in lovely, open pine woods, then a steep down and met by Mr Rat who walked with us for a few miles over some moorland, birch woods and grassy railway.
He went off after lunch to pitch the tents and we went over the bridge above and onto the railway for the rest of the day.
Unfortunately the grassy path didn't last and was replaced by packed rubble waiting for a final surface and then onto the final surface, hard gravel (at least it wasn't tarmac). Hard on the feet and too flat for my liking, especially as it was hot, though quite shaded for much of it.
Several distilleries (extra) and our new campsite was great - kitchen and sitting area and a pleasant evening sky (extra)
