A Simple Tribute

There are no words left that can convey the horror of the events which occurred twenty years ago today - yet another low point on humanity's inexorable descent to oblivion.  
The National September 11 Memorial and Museum was dedicated by New York Mayor, Michael Bloomberg, and President Obama on May 15, 2014.  Just days before, on May 10,  I had visited the site with a dear friend.  Surrounding a gaping hole in the ground is a panel engraved with the names of those who were lost.  Somebody had visited before and left a simple, beautiful and fleeting tribute.
