Solace Day 6: Not Working

Well this was the bit of the trip we most wanted Kat and Greig to experience: entering the water-filled caisson and being lowered down from the Trent & Mersey Canal onto the River Weaver with all it's peace and beauty.

It was not to happen.

We had a look into the visitors centre of this structure designed for the salt industry and work on the lift had not been completed. We decided that there would be insufficient time to cruise the Weaver and get back in time for using the tunnel again before we return to the marina.

Turn around and off for more adventures elsewhere and to get a kingfisher for Kaybee! You do like kingfishers, don't you?
