Red Admiral on the Buddleia

There have been so few butterflies in the garden this year that I want to record this one on the buddleia. Buddleia is a mixed blessing but butterflies love it. I chop mine back mercilessly every spring so it takes a while to flower. It provides a bit of colour late in the season.

Some useful rain overnight. Today is cloudy, dry, fairly warm and muggy. I'm working and have been at the desk since an early hour (re)reading papers, preparing myself and joining the virtual office. Once this work concludes I've got some Community Council business to attend to. So a busy end to a busy week.
