Liz and Mike

We met Liz and Mike on our South African truck trip which finished just before Covid started - the last foreign holiday for us all. They are cycling from Newcastle to Edinburgh by cycle route 1 and got to Amble on Day 1. 48 miles so they are quite tired. We picked them up at their hotel and went to a pub garden to eat. They are strict veggies so we’re not able to eat in any of the good local fish restaurants. It was lovely to see them. We got cold and went inside to a cubicle surrounded by Perspex so that felt fine and there were only 2 others couples inside at a distance. Tomorrow is a short day, to Seahouses. Next is Berwick, followed by Melrose and Innerleithen before Edinburgh.

Good news is I saw the optician and had the simultaneous peripheral vision test which I passed so I have that ready for DVLA when they’ll eventually deal with my licence.

Mr C’s results indicate he needs to be fast-tracked for further investigations which should happen within 2 weeks. It’s not what we wanted to hear, but “there’s no good worrying about the day you never saw” as our mothers used to tell us.

#2 daughter felt worse this morning. Thanks Blipper for recommending Vitamin D. Liz and Mike have been taking it throughout.
