Keeping Warm

Its been thoroughly horrible out today - a strong cold easterly wind has blow the snow around all day and made it bitterly cold outside. This robin was all fluffed up trying to keep warm. It comes to our garden every day and feeds off the fat ball and seems quite tame. We have a male blackbird who also feeds off the fat ball - interesting how the birds seem able to adapt their conventional feeding patterns to suit our garden feeders!

I kept myself warm with an afternoon of cake eating and champagne drinking by way of celebration for a friend who is to be married in a couple of weeks time!
It was also a good way to celebrate the 40th birthday of Mark (my brother-in-law).
