Bear Walk
Katie with Denis the class teddy, on the Sea Road bridge by the village. This is our usual route to the beach, but it's as far as we went today! We have the Travelling Ted journal to fill in with scenes from Denis's stay so Katie has been posing the bear all around the house and she was happy to get a bit of fresh air - despite the air being very fresh indeed!
There's a rota for bear weekends and Katie's turn has coincided with the Easter holidays, so we have an extra mouth to feed for a couple of weeks. Luckily he's happy with the odd crust and likes long walks.
Big Bear.
I took delivery of a no-nonsense wet & dry vacuum cleaner this week and it's hardly been off today. I've lifted an embarrassing amount of filth from the carpets and rugs as well as blasting cobwebs around every cornice and lampshade in every room.
Today the upstairs hall and children's bedroom 1 got the carpet-wash treatment and tomorrow it's children's bedroom 2. Non-stop housework, but it's basically a power tool and almost makes cleaning fun. Almost. Strangely satisfying pouring black water away and seeing colour I thought was gone for good in the old carpets.
