Deep In The Shadows

The branches of this old fallen tree make such an interesting structural subject with its bark stripped bare, very white in the setting sun against deep shadow behind.

I like this perspective with the trunk beginning in the bottom left and leading into the frame. And now with the Marsh Marigolds in flower on the far bank, the tree has something to lead towards in the image.

I love all the detail to be discovered in the shadows, once the eye travels past the obvious subject.
