St Andrews Cross spider

It's windy today. There are plenty of insects buzzing around the garden but they were busy, and being blown about, as was anything they landed on. The St Andrews Cross spider was as still as a stone, but its web was being blown about like everything else. I had to be patient and capture it in a lull.

I got in as close as practicable which means you don't get to see the full length of its legs but on this occasion I thought its head, thorax and abdomen held more interest. I seem to have done a selfie in its eyes, especially the left one. You can make out my fair hair and white top, but not my face as it has a camera in front of it.

Thanks for hosting tiny Tuesday for September, Jill. Stay well all.
