Another day, another harbour!
Today we went to Nairn. There were hardly any fishing boats, but a marina full of leisure boats. This fish seller, with her salted cod, is very impressive. The detail in her knitted cardigan is amazing, see extra. The Nairn museum was interesting too.
The highlight of the visit was the very kind and thoughtful woman driving a huge recycling lorry. She was emptying bins of glass and before she pressed the button to tip it into the back, she asked if Lottie would be okay as it was very noisy. Lottie had a cuddle and she was very brave! What a lovely woman!
Through to Elgin to see the cathedral, but one had to book and the last entry was 3pm so we took photos through the railings! We will be back!
The guide suggested we look at the Biblical Garden instead. Done by the local horticultural students, the design makes use of trees and plants mentioned in the bible. It was interesting to see how many either of us could remember! Lots of alpine ground cover planting too, a huge variety. Mike took photos for ideas for his green roof.
Just before we parked up for the night we called in at the little church at Inveravon to see the carved Pictish stones. We're finding them all over now that we have a map! A lot of interesting things to see today. Good job I have blip to keep the memories for me!
