Dog tired
We were just finishing breakfast when a council truck and trailer needed us to move so that they could turn round and off load a lawn mower! They were very nice about it, they weren't in too much of a hurry!
We went to Grantown on Spey. Goodness, the heat!! What a nice town, tidy and smart, some attractive buildings too, but no dogs allowed in their museum. Mike went in alone while Lottie and I browsed in some second hand shops and bought some post cards.
Lunch in a cafe garden, Lottie in the shade under the table with a fresh bowl of water. Lovely salad and sandwiches, coleslaw and sauté potatoes. Very relaxing, just sitting in the sun.
Parked later up a forest track. Super views, sunshine and so still. Stillness is always a bit of a novelty, having lived in Orkney for 44 years! Sat and did some embroidery. So peaceful. Saw a roe deer, daintily step out of the forest and across the track before disappearing again.
Later on a chap appeared with his dog and warned us that the gate at the bottom of track would be locked overnight, so we rapidly upped sticks and moved on!
Snuggled down, safe and sound, and very secluded. It had been a hot day and poor Lottie was exhausted!
