Travelling hopelessly
Blink.
I found myself in an empty corridor. For some reason, I knew instantly that I'd arrived at the right location.
It felt very cold after the intense heat of the Turkish afternoon, and I suppressed an involuntary shiver.
Stepping forward, I felt dizzy and disoriented, stumbling to my knees. it felt like weakness and I was momentarily embarrassed. The feeling passed when I remembered just how strange this situation was: all in all, I thought I shouldn't be too hard on myself.
After all, it seemed there were already enough people who weren't on my side.
Feeling more steady on my legs, I started down the corridor, heading for light that was spilling through the only open door that I could see.
It seemed as good a place as any to start.
