FInding my way
I blinked, then thought - or to be more accurate, I blinkthought.
And found myself on Victoria Street.
It was where we'd had one of our first dates - a few beers in the Irish pub, then a band in the Liquid Rooms - but it wasn't going to help me find Jen right now.
Blink.
I opened my eyes to see the shore at Cramond. One of our favourite places to walk.
Blink.
The changing rooms in one of the fancy department stores on 5th Avenue - scene of a birthday surprise I'd arranged for her.
Blink.
The beach at Marmaris, in Turkey. It was where we'd gone on our first holiday together. I breathed the warm air, felt the overwhelming heat and heard the gentle lapping of waves on the beach with a mounting sense of frustration.
I took a deep breath, closed my eyes, tried to imagine Kate and Mr Smith ... and hoped to open them where I needed to be.
