Still plenty of colour
Slept well……was woken up by one of my lovely neighbours lol, not sure who, but it involved a drill or saw at 08.55 on a Sunday morning. I hate being woken up with a “start”, a. it too early for that kind of thing, well in my book any how!
Got up, had a leisurely shower, did my hair, make up, chose an outfit suitable for Sunday lunch at a pub. I was meeting up with daughter & her man S, it is his birthday today, we were joined by youngest son and DiL, sadly, yet again, middle son couldn't come as he was working :-/
We all opted for the roast dinner, beef, turkey or gammon, with all the trimmings. It all got eaten, so did desserts :-0!!! Birthday boy was grateful for all his gifts, which included Rum :-)
We went our separate ways mid afternoon, we all had “stuff” to do. Mine involved the garden, cutting back the rampant cotoneaster in the front garden, followed by some weeding, putting canes behind & then tying up the miscanthus grasses, which always irritate my arms when I do this task every year !!! The undersides are currently very red and stinging…it will have settled down by morning. I watered the very sorry state that is the back lawn again too.
Whilst doing this I could hear D&E nextdoor, the conversation revealed that they had left their sweeteners at the caravan, much to D’s dismay! I remembered I still had some in our cupboard that hub used to use….so I quickly got them then called out do D….he couldn't hear me, so I threw them over the fence and into their utility room! I heard them land and skid over the marble floor tiles lol!
I still couldn’t get D’s attention so grabbed my phone and rung him…….mystery solved!!! The dog had seen them come flying in and alerted D, who had picked them up wondering where the hell they had come from lol!!! I ended up chatting to both and that ended with me popping round to join them for a coffee. We watched Vigil together, another gripping episode!
Back home for 10.30…….just watched the football highlights, a good result.
Todays blip is one of two lovely nerrines that have flowered, just besides where hub rests. I was saying to him that he wouldn't be impressed with the state of the lawn………I hope it recovers once all the moss has died off, think there might be a need for some reseeding though :-/
Another new week beckons……time is marching on, at least it looks like we are in for a few more days of nice weather, it makes such a difference :-)
