WITH A SONG IN MY HEART

Beauty Therapy

Today has been the babysitting day as Sabrina and John went to a friend’s wedding with an overnight stay.
The morning was taken up with Sabrina being ‘done up’ by a lovely Girl called Tina who she had never met before. She had her make up and hair done (this kind of thing is quite alien to me - but interesting and fun to watch) the girls were spellbound!
Tina is Romanian and married to a Scotsman and they have two children. She was telling us that she studied law in Romania and has a degree but only did it to please her parents and didn’t really enjoy it. So she changed her career to hair and beauty which she loves. It certainly showed. She even did Amelia’s and Lucy’s hair and put a bit of lippy and sparkle on them.  They were in their element. The nearest I’ve been to beauty treatment is little Lucy slapping her gaudy eyeshadow, rouge and lippy on me!
When Sabrina’s make up was done, Amelia said, ‘ Your lips look too big Mummy.’
She was right, when Sabrina went upstairs to put her dress on I went up with her and she looked panic stricken. ‘Oh Mum, my lips look massive!’ I said she would have to tell Tina.
Tina was lovely about it and removed the lipliner and lipstick and redid it in a more natural look.
Sabrina has rarely had this kind of treatment so didn’t know what to expect but she looked beautiful when they left for the wedding. Johnnie looked smart too - though he didn’t look comfortable in his suit! He’d rather be in his jeans and T shirt.
Tina stayed a bit longer to talk to Frank about guitars as she was going into Glasgow to buy one for her young son who is having lessons. She was so grateful for Frank’s expert advice.

We spent the afternoon with Amelia on her own as Lucy had gone to her dance class and then back to her little friend’s house to play.

We were outside most of the time, Frank and Amelia got some paints out and painted the fronts of the logs in the wood store. We also played ukulele and had a game of Old Maid.
When Lucy came back she painted logs too.
At 5pm they were allowed on their screens for an hour while we made the tea.
Later when I started looking at all the blips and commenting Amelia was looking with me and asked if she could type the comments for me so she did them all as I told her what to write. She’s fast!

They were tucked up in bed by 8pm.

I’m going now too!
Goodnight ;-)X
