Edinburgh's Grassmarket at the foot of the West Bow with George Heriot's School domimating the skyline. The large stone structure in the middle of the road was a water well, residents would collect their water in pails and carry it up as many as five or six flights of stairs in the tenements Cold and gray in town today and not many people braving the elements.
