Looking back

Went to Ferrol in the morning for my low-carb bread from Supercor and a few DIY odds and ends from Leroy-Merlin.

Invited for afternoon tea/coffee/g&t by L & P, friends of a mutual friend who visited from Santander a couple of weeks ago.

They live on the opposite side of the river from Pontedeume, in a municipality called Cabanas, from where they have great views, including this view of Pontedeume.

Spent much of the afternoon talking horticulture. Persuaded that we ought to grow kiwi fruits and avocados.

When we got home there was enough sun left to get the lawn mower out. I also sowed a bit of grass seed and tried out the garden hose that was bequeathed to us with the house. Only one leak.

C's friend M is staying with us this weekend. Lovely to see her. Now a fully qualified vet. Seems like no time since they started higher education. I used to give them a lift from Gijón to Vegadeo on the Asturias/Galicia border, from where they caught a bus to Lugo, where they both studied their first year in higher education and shared a flat in a student residence. M now works in Vigo.
