Ajohn's Spinning Bells

M has quite some collection of African violets - this is a new one that we bought as a single leaf on the garden fair last year.

It's the first time it's flowering. Now we remember why we chose this particular hybrid among the hundreds that we were offered. :-)

We've been puzzled by the name - what the flower does Ajohn stand for? After a little search on the web we found out that this hybrid (and quite a few other) of African violets was made by Arne Johanson.
