Special

Very special.

Erica was three on Sunday.  Today we met up with her and Holly and Ruth had a special present for her.   Holly is a volunteer guard here and Dad Ed is a Fireman.   At home, steam railways are an integral part of life too so Erica is very much at home around trains, so much so that when the whistle blows she raises an arm and says 'Right Away' :-)    She's a very special little girl in many ways and regular photo and video updates from Holly over the last eighteen months have helped lift my spirits when things have been difficult here.   Whether blowing a kiss, blowing bubbles or blowing raspberries, she's a treasure and I feel blessed to know her and her family.

Otherwise the day has seen a fair bit of thinking about flats and planning for a Teams meeting with a manager from the CCG in Birmingham  tomorrow morning.   How to source joint funding of social and health care - it really shouldn't need a parent to have to intervene at this level.
