There are good days and not so good ones
This is a great one!!!
I thought that I might be on a winner when I woke to the sight of B with a cup of coffee for me at 10am, I had slept for 11hrs straight. The best for night for ages!!
I responded to a text message, which came in yesterday, asking me to book a flu jab appointment. I did try 3 times yesterday, but was in a queue each time of 50+ callers. I fully expected to be told that the dates given yesterday had all gone, but the call was picked up on the 3rd ring tone and I was offered 10.31 on the original first date!!! I don’t know how that worked!!!
I then went round to see the local dog kennels as we need to book a few days accommodation for Olive when she stays with us next month. The kennel that Amber goes to is full, so we were a bit stuck. The good news is that the kennels are fine, fit for purpose and can take her!!!
No sooner home than this parcel was delivered. It doesn’t look very interesting, but it contains a length of batting (wadding) to put into my quilts. It is 120 ins wide and you buy it by the metre!! It helps to be old like me, as patchworkers work in inches when constructing their blocks, but purchase materials using metres etc. I can visualise measurements in metric and imperial systems.
I need this for my first U3A sewing meeting, when I will have enough tables to get the batting opened out and cut to fit the two quilt tops that are ready. A bit of a juggling act.
Tesco’s delivery arrived early, was complete and quickly put away.
This has been a win, win, win, day! Don’t get many of those, so I’ve blipped whilst I’m ahead :0))))
