The End

And just like that, August is done. Back to school is a drawn out process this year. We travel to school tomorrow afternoon. She has induction day on Thursday. It's her first day of school on Friday. So basically... Summer is done.

The morning was music and packing. But the afternoon was unexpectedly fabulous. We had arranged a walk with one of her ballet friends and her mum. We know we all get on well, but the girls had such a brilliant time together. They haven't seen each other since Katie went to school so loved it. They charged around the woods for ages. I had promised them a brownie trip after the woods and there was a point at which they had decided that time had arrived and they didn't want to walk to the tower. But they then spent ages playing and laughing.

Brownies of course were purchased, we took them in to the gardens nearby at Katie's request. Her plan turned out to be brownies (cookie pie in Katie's case, it's her favourite from this particular place) followed by hide and seek. We all played and they laughed non-stop. Including while they were supposedly hiding.
